A magical winter retreat at 2 Pause Cottage. We had the pleasure of spending three nights at 2 Pause Cottage as a group of three adults and one very energetic 3-year-old — and it couldn't have been more perfect for us. The sleeping arrangements suited us perfectly, especially with the thoughtful inclusion of a child’s bed. Even in the middle of winter, we stayed wonderfully warm and cozy thanks to the snug bedding and efficient heater. The setting is truly magical. Waking up each morning to the serene Breede River, with its peaceful presence and the crisp, fresh air, stirred a real sense of adventure in all of us. The tranquility of the area, combined with the untouched natural beauty, made it feel like a real escape. During our stay, we explored the local area — enjoyed delicious meals at the Boathouse Pizzeria and the Bush Pub, and took leisurely walks through the veld, chasing breathtaking views of the Malgas Valley. Nature lovers will adore this spot; we were lucky enough to witness an incredible variety of birdlife, including birds of prey. Evenings were spent around the fire in the well-equipped braai area, where we shared good food and created special memories with dear friends. Thank you for keeping this booking for us for over a year due to last year's flood water that kept us from going on this trip. Thank you for opening up your beautiful slice of paradise to us. 2 Pause Cottage gave us everything we needed and more — we left rested, inspired, and already planning our return.

Well located, great for a weekend away. If you travel with a small car, make sure to get the correct directions. Other than that, we had a great stay. Very relaxing and quiet.

A relaxing, comfortable stay in a beautiful setting on the Breede. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and clean. The view from the verandah is beautiful over the Breede River. We enjoyed sitting at the braai in the dark watching the stars light up the sky. The jetty brought some close-up views of the river and the changing colours of dawn and dusk. It brought a quietness to the usual hustle and bustle of everyday life. By the jetty is an eating area and a 2-seater swing. We enjoyed spending time there. There is also WiFi available.

Perfect for relaxation & reflection. Everything was supplied. Neat. Clean. Too beautiful for words. We swam. We walked. Enjoyed the weather. Just right for some star gazing. Used the supplied canoe and just had the best time for relaxation & reflection. Bird life to 'die for'. The sounds/calls of the birds we so enjoyed. Really a place to visit & relax.
