Holgar and Norma, you treated us as if we were family. We did not want to leave. I will recommend it to anyone. Will definitely go back. Had a nice rest. Thank you. I liked the honesty bar.

Elands Marathon weekend. Norma and the support staff are wonderful. Our stay for the marathon was really awesome and we will book again for next year. The food is magnificent! The views were breathtaking! Alcoholic refreshments are on the pricey side, so be prepared!

Won't go back again. Such a shame. The friendliness from staff was lovely and accommodating. The Hippo room we stayed in was absolutely horrible. Not clean, even dead squished bugs on walls. They can do with some maintenance around the entire lodge as well. No attention to making sure it was clean for us. Food for dinner was majorly overpriced as well.

This review is totally untrue. This couple arrived with 2 children, who slept there, so 2 extra beds were put into the upgraded room as they booked a small room. The children ate breakfast, and they left without paying for the breakfast, which was against the agreement. According to the staff, the guest left the doors open all the time. If bugs fly in, it is impossible to control. The rooms are always spotlessly clean. The staff really went out of their way to make the guests' stay pleasant. They repaid us by leaving without paying.

Tranquil mountain retreat. Breathtaking views in a tranquil mountain retreat! It was perfectly located for us, right next to one of the best climbing spots in the world. The team made it very nice for us with special attention to our baby's needs. The lodge is really beautiful.

Op doorreis. Ons was met 4 en het lekker verblyf. Niets was te veel. Aandete en ontbyt was perfect. Komen vir seker terug.

Bietjie teleurgesteld. Het meer verwag. Acra het baie potensiaal, maar kort bietjie versorging. Ons het in die Hippo kamer geslaap en die een kamer met 3 beddens se bed het nie goed geruik nie. Aandag kan ook gegee word aan nuwe duvet binnekante. Die tuin en omliggende area kort baie aandag en die ontbyt se standaard kan ook verbeter word. (Van die vrugte was al bietjie af.) Acra het wel baie potensiaal om topklas verblyf te raak. Personeel was baie gaaf en vriendelik.

Dear Mr Prinsloo, I was amazed and sad that you did not come directly to me with these issues, as we could have seen to them immediately. Regarding the garden: Your visit took place just after Christmas. I do not have staff over Christmas, and we close Acra. I am of the opinion that everybody should be home and be with family during this period. When we start up again, it can be, and especially if we have had rain, like we did, that the grass is much longer than usual. It takes a few days to get everything back to normal. Please remember that we have 11 hectares to see to. We also do not mow grass in the mornings, so that our guests can get the rest they deserve. Regarding the fruit: I did a check and found the watermelon (that I managed to purchase the day before) a tad soft. I personally removed it from the buffet... (We drive to Nelspruit to get fruit). Regarding the mattress: I did a "smell" test. Unfortunately, my staff did not inform me that a previous guest (age 7) misused the mattress. I had it removed immediately. Had you told me directly, we would have exchanged the mattress straight away. Unfortunately, I do not do "smell" tests unless prompted to do so. For this, I apologise, but, as mentioned above, I would have seen to it, had you told me, instead of waiting to write a bad review on the internet, which affects the future of my staff and me. We do strive to keep Acra at its best, and are very proud that we made it through Covid. So sorry you did not enjoy your stay; we, however, would be very happy to see you and your lovely family again one day.

Overnight stay. Such a lovely stay, always good to experience a place where you feel at home without the day-to-day chores. It was relaxing and quiet.
