African Vineyard Boutique Hotel & Spa, just outside Upington and Keimoes in the Northern Cape, is situated in the lush vineyards of Kanoneiland in the Green Kalahari. It is the ideal stopover for guests on their way to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the Augrabies Falls, Riemvasmaak. River Rafting and the Namaqualand. Escape to the island of slow living on this working raisin farm, enjoying slow food and pure relaxation in the Wellness Spa & Retreat.

Accommodation comprises 14 spacious, beautifully appointed rooms, from standard to luxury, that open out onto a green oasis with birds. Most of the unique, comfortable, and elegant rooms overlook the beautiful garden with a swimming pool and various species of birds.

Kanoneiland, or Cannon Island, is the largest island in the Orange River and the largest inhabited island in South Africa. It is 14 km long and 3 km wide at its widest point, covering an area of 2553 hectares. The fertile alluvial soil and ready waters of the river are used to cultivate grapes, pecan nuts, and even cotton.
