Beautiful, quiet, peaceful and enjoyable. Very nice, beautiful views and private. Also in the middle of the roads which makes it nice to plan a route from there. Very nice stay.

A beautiful place to decompress in a rustic, rural environment. We loved our stay in the Amanzi Empilo Bungalow. This off-the-grid, one-room bungalow has stunning views over the Bell River in a really peaceful location. The only passing traffic is on the road leading to Naudesnek Pass up the slope behind the cottage, but vehicles are few and far between. For the rest, all you'll hear is birdsong and the odd sheep. It's rustic and so might not suit everybody, and there are a few steep steps up to the cottage. The cottage is equipped with solar lighting, a gas freezer (which will keep most of your goodies cold, but your veggies should go into the coolbox provided) and a donkey for heating hot water, all of which functioned well. There's no cellphone reception, which means you really can tune out from the real world, but if you do need to pick up any messages, you can do so at the entrance to the farm or in Rhodes village. We enjoyed exploring on foot but would have appreciated a bit more detailed information about available walking trails in the area.
