Description
Amanzi Empilo which means 'healing waters' in the native Xhosa language, offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a private bungalow built from river stone. The rustic bungalow is situated on the Bell River and is hidden in a valley, approximately 1 km off the road to Naude's Nek Pass, via an accessible road from the main house on Grace Hill Farm.
The open-plan bungalow can accommodate up to 4 guests and contains a double bed, a bunk bed, a seating area and a kitchenette with a gas stove and gas freezer. There is an en-suite bathroom with a shower. All the appliances are powered by solar power or gas and there is a donkey wood-fired system for hot water that needs to be attended daily. No towels and toiletries supplied.
Covered parking is provided for 2 vehicles and a trailer, and the bungalow is supplied with water from a mountain spring. Stairs lead from the parking to the bungalow.
The outside deck is equipped with braai facilities and offers views of the surrounding mountains and the Bell River. Guests have access to the river for fishing and swimming, and can also explore Rhodes Village, which is located just 5 km from Grace Hill Farm.
