Very unpleasant to holiday next to a construction site. My husband and I went on a two-week holiday in March this year (2022) in the Garden Route, from Dana Bay to Storms River. We stayed at five different places and at four of these places our stay was very pleasant. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about our stay at Amicus in Nature Valley. Instead of the peace and quiet in nature that awaited us, our stay at Amicus was next to a construction site. So, instead of birdsong and silence, we were subjected to the non-stop noise of a saw, drilled, chopped and a grinding jackhammer mixed with the booming voices of the construction workers. The noise and the construction dust were so bad that we had to cancel our stay at Amicus prematurely and look for other accommodation at our own expense. We realize that the owners of Amicus are not responsible for construction work next to Amicus, but the decent thing would have been to warn us that we were going to be holidaying next to a construction site and gave us the option to: still stay there or refunded our money if we chose other accommodation.

Old fashioned holiday accommodation. Practical facility, peaceful neighbourhood. Excellent location. The flatlet was suitable except it could have been aired and cleaned more thoroughly before we arrived. Otherwise we loved the little garden with happy birdlife. I found much joy in reading a Hardy boys book which I found on the bookshelf.
