The Arumvale Country Retreat is situated in Swellendam is surrounded by farmlands, within 200 m of a running mountain river and the Swellendam golf course. It is the ideal base from which to explore Swellendam and its surrounds or to enjoy a comfortable countryside experience with majestic mountain views and natural landscapes. The guest house provides well appointed, self-catering guest facilities and friendly, professional service.

Accommodation is offered in 2 luxury self-catering suites, 2 standard and 1 rustic cottages, as well as our standard Samantha Room, located within a beautiful garden and countryside setting. Each suite features a large bedroom with all necessary blanketing and linen and an en-suite bathroom, a well-equipped kitchenette with a stove, fridge, open-hearth fireplace, cutlery and crockery and cooking utensils, a tastefully furnished lounge with a daybed, a TV with a DVD player and a selection of DVDs, and a private patio with braai facilities.

Guests can relax in summer on the verandah overlooking the swimming pool while enjoying magnificent views up the Hermitage Valley or gather around the cosy open fireplace in each of the suites. There is also free Wi-Fi available throughout the guest house and secure on-site parking is provided for guests' vehicles.

Attractions in the area include walking and mountain bike trails, mountain climbing, canoeing on the Breede River, horse riding. Watch whales during the season at the De Hoop coastal nature reserve, visit the Breede River Valley Winelands, the scenic Tradouw Pass and Arniston, Indian Ocean Coastal Resort.
