Description

Assegai Lodge is a self-catering holiday home in the heart of the Highlands Wilderness Game Reserve near Bela-Bela. It is a great option for a family getaway or a group of friends.

The main house has 3 bedrooms with queen-size beds and 2 full bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. All rooms open onto a patio overlooking the bushveld.

The open-plan living area has a kitchen, dining area and lounge area. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, oven, fridge-freezer, and sink with cutlery and crockery. The utility room has a microwave oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, kitchenware and sinks.

The dining area has a large dining table with seating for 8 as well as a kitchen counter with 3 chairs. The living area has comfortable seating with sliding doors that open onto a wooden deck with additional seating and a small swimming pool. On the north side, sliding doors lead to a boma picnic area with built-in seating, an umbrella, a fire pit and braai facilities. Camp chairs, a bar fridge and an ice machine are available in the storeroom next to the apartment.

The open-plan apartment, with a separate entrance, has a queen-size bed, a single bed, a lounge area, a kitchenette and a private bathroom with a bath. The apartment can be booked as part of the main house or is available separately, but only if the main house is not already booked.

Game viewing is permitted with private vehicles, and there are a few short routes for 4x4 enthusiasts. Walking, jogging and mountain biking are very popular. The rock ledge next to the house offers lovely views over the farm and is ideal for morning coffee or late afternoon cocktails. Guests can expect regular visits from the game. There are several attractions in the area and the Elements Golf Course is barely 3 km from the Highlands' main entrance.
