A secluded little gem to recharge your batteries. It was just what we needed. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and wanted to switch off for a couple of days, and this was the perfect place to do that. Very secluded and private, however, with all the needed amenities for a comfortable stay. The host was friendly and very accommodating, and the cottage had various items that one would often forget when travelling, which they thought of, like tin foil, oil, braai spice, etc. Would definitely like to go back again.

Incredible, secluded nature stay perfect for the digital detox. Austrey Lodge is an incredible gem to take a full digital detox. No cellphone service or WiFi make it great. (There is 3G with a walk up the hill). With this comes the quiet. The only sound you hear is nature itself. Too beautiful. Besides that, the unit is homely, clean and well looked after. The hosts went the extra mile with prepping the fireplace and having some basics available that we often forget (braai salt, paper towels etc). I would highly recommend the stay.

Awesome, relaxing, definitely want to go back for longer. Above expectation. Greeted warmly by the host, Kevin accompanied us to the lodge 8 km from the Homestead during a stunning thunderstorm. The lodge is breathtakingly beautiful. Our hosts checked on us via WhatsApp to make sure we were OK and had all we needed on the Saturday morning, and even advised us on the best routes to take back to Port Elizabeth. Wish our stay could have been longer, but we will be back! And the hot tub! An added extra bonus.

Dit was 'n rustige wegbreek in die natuur. Ek en my vrou wou wegbreek van die gewoel in die stad - die beste was dat ons geen selfoonsein gehad het nie. Die kothuis het alles wat jy nodig het, en nog meer. Die gasheer het selfs die buitebad warm gemaak en alles reggesit om die verblyf so gerieflik moontlik te maak. het absoluut alles gedoen om te verseker dat alles reg is. Jy hoef letterlik net kos saam te vat - selfs swemhanddoeke en speserye word voorsien. Wees voorbereid op 'n 40 km grondpad, maar dis die moeite werd om goed te ontspan.

Fantasties, pragtig, afskakel, gerieflik. Hierdie naweek was voorwaar 'n wonderlike wegbreek. Austrey Lodge is pragtig, en deur die mooiste natuur omring. Daar is niemand anders naby nie en geen selfoon opvangs het vir seker dat ons heeltemal kon afskakel. Die huisie is gemaklik en goed toegerus. Die hottub was 'n lekker ekstra om te geniet. Kevin is 'n baie goeie host. Ons sal vir seker weer by Austrey Lodge gaan kuier.

This is a place for people that love nature and peacefulness. Highly recommended. It was absolutely awesome. Heavenly bliss. My partner and I loved the peacefulness and serenity with nothing around you except a dam, luscious green landscape, sheep and 2 huge bulls (harmless). The plus about this place is there is no TV, no WiFi and hardly any cell signal (comes and goes) so you are not distracted from any media. The hot tub was awesome. The bed was really comfortable. The fact is that it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere makes you feel very safe. Although it is expensive, we felt that it was worth every cent. Please note: this is not a place for people that have very young children.

Peaceful stay in the countryside. A beautiful place to enjoy autumn countryside colours. A chilly couple of days signalling the start of winter, but we had a lovely walk, an evening log fire and even managed to catch a couple of trout. Kevin was an attentive host and we felt extremely relaxed at Austrey Lodge.

If a picture paints a thousand words, you would need a library to describe this. Absolutely perfect. One of the best beds I have slept on. Hosts thought of everything. This is pure heaven on earth. Just a pity I was with a bunch of devils. Lol. Who also had fun.

Iddiles om weg te breek van die wêreld se gejaag. Dit was een van ons beste stoppe op ons toer. Met 'n uitsig wat net rustigheid oor jou bring. Austrey Lodge is 'n huissie afgeleë in die berge op Braambos Pas. Daar is al die benodighede vir 'n tegnologie wegbreek. Die eienaar is vriendelik en het baie goed gekommunikeer. Toe ons daar aankom, was die "Hot Tub" klaar gestook en in 'n japtrap was die kinders klaar in. Met die berge, dam en valleie om jou, kom die rustigheid vanself. Die weer het nie mooi saam gespeel toe ons daar was, maar die kinders (6 en 8) kon roei, swem en visvang. Die selfoonsein was nie baie sterk nie, maar so 'n wegbreek moet mens afsny van die gejaag.

Very nice! I would give a 5 star rate. It's a beautiful location! They have a lovely hot tub that was nice and warm when we arrived. The accommodation was very clean and the beds were great. The view is amazing.
