Breakwater 4 is a beautiful self-catering unit in the heart of Hermanus. This 3-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 6 guests and includes a fully equipped kitchen, smart flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and both a patio and balcony with breathtaking ocean views towards Gearing’s Point, where whales and dolphins are often seen.
The spacious main bedroom has its own private balcony, perfect for spending hours gazing at the waves breaking on the rocks below. It is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite shower. The other 2 bedrooms boast stunning mountain views, each fitted with a smart TV for those lazy days when you prefer to stay in bed. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds, while the third bedroom has a double bed. They share a bathroom with both a bath and a shower.
On the ground floor, the open-plan living area includes a dedicated workspace, a guest bathroom, and ample seating for up to eight guests. The kitchen flows seamlessly from the living area and features an 8-seater dining table for enjoying family meals together. It is equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, as well as a wine cooler. For guests’ convenience, there is also a dishwasher and a washer/dryer.
The living area opens onto a spacious front patio and garden with additional sea views, an 8-seater outdoor table, and a freestanding braai. At the back of the unit, there is a communal swimming pool and braai area shared exclusively by the 6 Breakwater units. A lock-up garage provides direct access to the kitchen.
The world-famous Hermanus Cliff Path passes just 50 m from the unit, offering a 13 km coastal trail with some of the best viewpoints and ocean scenery in the region. The route stretches from the New Harbour to Grotto Beach, with tidal pools along the way for a refreshing swim. For those wanting to explore the Cape fynbos, the Fernkloof Nature Reserve offers a variety of hiking trails through the surrounding mountains, boasting spectacular views.
The unit is within a 5-minute walk of the Hermanus Waterfront, where guests can enjoy a wide variety of restaurants, stalls, and art galleries. For the adventurous, there are daily whale- and shark-viewing tours, shark cage diving, and fishing charters available. Golf enthusiasts can play at the 27-hole Hermanus Golf Club or the nearby world-class Arabella Golf Estate. Beaches such as Langbaai, Kammabaai, Voelklip, and Grotto are all within a 5 km radius, ideal for swimming and family outings. The Hermanus Country Club also offers tennis, padel, and squash courts. Wine lovers can visit the famous Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, home to more than ten top wine estates, all within easy reach.
