Very nice until Sunday. I had a very nice stay, but on Sunday night and Monday morning, I had a very bad experience when drunken men came into the hallway, swearing at each other and being loud. I went to the front desk at 2 o'clock on Monday morning to complain. The men at the front desk were very helpful. My family and I were on holiday there and wanted to relax. My 12-year-old daughter was so frightened because she is not used to people behaving like animals, and they were very inconsiderate.

Can recommend for sure. No fuss, great place. Literally just about on the beach. We just stopped over from the Eastern Cape to Somerset West to have a peaceful sleep.

Ek sal altyd verder kyk na ander opsies. Koste is hoog vir 'n mediocre fasiliteit. Hulle het nie eens 'n botteljie water in die kamer gehad wat baie goedkoper gastehuise en hotelle verskaf.

The service and quality of the hotel has really gone down. No-one was helpful when I arrived. Decor old and uninviting. Breakfast buffet - the person dishing up was unhelpful, abrupt, and unsmiling. As a guest, I should be able to dish up my own food, not have it slapped on the plate. Very disappointing. When I arrived, I was not made to feel welcome, and when I asked about the parking, I was abruptly told to park somewhere in the opposite parking area, nowhere near the actual hotel. The next morning, my rear windscreen wiper was standing out and the petrol cap door/cover was open. I felt unsafe walking from the parking garage to the hotel. Very uninviting and disappointing stay in general.

It is pricy for room only. Advert is misleading to not disclose that no breakfast involved. When I was looking for a place to stay City Lodge Hotel came up because I have slept there before during my Military days but it has change that why it is pricy for room only and the advert is misleading because it do not stipulate precisely that no breakfast for served. I declined a few other hotels and guesthouses due to this. I was surprised during check out that I had to pay for breakfast. This will be last time that I will stay in the City Lodge Hotel if this is the method how clients are treated.

A neat and handy place to stay over the Iron Man weekend. A bit pricey for room only. But a pleasant and friendly place to stay.
