Beautiful cottage with garden bonfire. Lisle is so lovely! We loved sitting by the bonfire on our first night and enjoying the garden with our morning coffee. The outdoor space has two braai places and is surrounded by tall trees and all kinds of bird sounds with the view of the Woodstock Dam in the background. The cottage is beautiful inside, well laid out with two ensuite bathrooms and intentionally and tastefully decorated. Even from the living room and kitchen windows, we got to watch gorgeous sunrises over the farmlands. The road getting to the cottage is 8 km of dirt road, some parts quite rough and requiring a bakkie, which adds some extra time entering and leaving, but that is nothing on the cottage and we would still recommend this cottage. It was by far my favourite place to stay from our time in the Drakensberg.

Fantastic work in progress. Lisle was a lovely host. She welcomed us warmly. The house was her grandparents' house and has now been converted for guest accommodation purposes. It is not a hotel (don't visit here expecting a hotel experience). There is no TV, which is great; the bush television is always more interesting and social. My son loved the farm experience, and even had an opportunity to fish at the two dams on the huge farm. The plans that Lisle and Gerrie have to improve the facilities and comfort around the homestead are exciting. Definitely looking forward to returning to Dahlia Huis.
