dHoek Guesthouse is located 20 km outside of Barrydale, a charming village on the border of the Overberg and Klein Karoo regions in the Western Cape. A place of grace and tranquillity, this guesthouse is a true sanctuary. The renovated original Cape farmhouse celebrates the evocative spirit of old Africa, while offering every modern comfort.

The home comprises 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, accommodating up to 8 guests. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and features an en-suite bathroom with a bath and outdoor shower. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom, also fitted with a bath and an outdoor shower. The remaining 2 bedrooms are in a cottage situated 30m from the Main House. They each contain a king-size bed. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom that is fitted with a bath and an indoor shower. Inside the main house, there is a guest bathroom with a toilet.

The living area features a dining space and a cosy lounge with comfortable couches and a TV with Netflix. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and tea-and-coffee-making facilities.

Outdoors, guests can enjoy a stunning swimming pool, lush green lawns, a generous covered porch and tranquil indoor spaces, all ideal for luxurious, laid-back country living. Active guests can explore farm roads for running, hiking trails, mountain biking, or make use of the lap pool. For those who prefer a slower pace, there is a well-stocked library, a chest of board games, and inviting seating areas throughout the property to take in the garden, mountains and Karoo vistas.

Nature lovers can look forward to birdwatching opportunities, with possible sightings of Southern Tchagra, Cape and Pririt Batis, Cape Bunting, Bar-throated Apalis, African Dusky Flycatcher, Chestnut-vented Tit-Babbler, Cape Eagle-Owl and Rock Kestrel. Just 3 hours from Cape Town and 15 minutes from the town of Barrydale on the R62, this 17-hectare private retreat offers spectacular 360-degree views of the Langeberg Mountains and classic Klein Karoo landscapes.
