Breathtaking. We loved our stay at Uilhuisie. The location is idyllic and the attention to detail in the home is exquisite. It was exceptionally rejuvenating and peaceful. The owners have clearly thought about all of the small details that make a big difference.

Secluded, safe and beautiful Karoo sunsets and stars - heated pool and beautiful. What a beautiful location and accommodation - incredible sunsets, skies and privacy - the pool was heated and most welcome - loved our stay.

Lovely peaceful stay. This was such a lovely stay in the lovely rustic Uilhuisie with beautiful views. We enjoyed our peaceful stay with an inside fireplace and it is ideal for a private isolated stay while enjoying the Bonnievale area.

Brilliant, exactly what we wanted with a wonderful host! We wanted a place away from everyone and everything. We got exactly that. Pictures provided on the net are quite accurate. Indoor fireplace and braai. Candles and lanterns at night. Warm cosy beds. Hot shower. Showers indoors and out! What a lovely time. The host went above and beyond. Long walks in the veld. Quiet and definitely a place to relax. One gets the feeling of being transported back in time, with modern day luxuries. This is a must-visit destination!

Amazing. Die Uilhuisie just outside of Bonnievale is a stunning gem nestled in the heart of the Riviersonderend Mountain range, in the middle of nowhere. I literally mean in the middle of nowhere. You are the only cottage for kilometers around you. The beauty of the free-roaming Eland and Nguni cows is just breathtaking. Bird life is inundated with beautiful birds of all kinds. Die Uilhuisie is surrounded by tranquil sights and breathtaking mountain views; it's a true escape from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. The candlelit ambiance adds a touch of rustic charm, and everything else runs on gas and solar power, highlighting by candlelight its eco-friendly appeal. The pet-friendly accommodation is cozy and well-equipped with everything you might need. Although the gas shower didn't heat up sufficiently, the overall experience was amazing. I would recommend this beautiful, rustic retreat to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway.
