Etendeka Mountain Camp & Etendeka Hiking Trails is set in the foothills of the Grootberg massif, and appeals to the traveller who is prepared to step outside of their comfort zone and experience this remote wilderness, with its harsh beauty in an authentic way.

Accommodation at Etendeka Mountain Camp & Etendeka Hiking Trails offers pathways that lead to 10 private shaded en-suite Meru tents, each with their stunning eco-friendly open-air ‘bucket’ showers. Each tent offers simple comfort in a rugged and harsh landscape, and although the views from your bed are inspiring, it's when you step outside and settle into your luxury camp chair that you have an overwhelming sensation of being one with nature. Design elements include stacked Basalt rock gabion-walls for privacy but the overriding feature remains the natural surrounds.

Fresh, wholesome meals are prepared, either in solar ovens or on open fires, and enjoyed under African skies. Solar power is used extensively throughout the camp. Guests can cool off in the plunge pool or enjoy a selection of beverages and sundowners.

The area offers a rich and diverse environment to be explored on foot or a scenic drive. This unforgiving landscape is the refuge of a diverse number of plant and mammal species. Here one is reminded that we are all guests of Mother Nature.

The Etendeka Hiking experience promises to be an authentic and exhilarating engagement with nature. Guests can walk through one of Namibia’s most remote and untouched landscapes, have sundowners as they look out over never-ending vistas of ancient rock formations, and sleep under the stars.
