Great. Relaxing. Quiet. It was pleasant. The reserve was lovely. The dirt road getting there is a bit bad due to coal trucks, so smaller vehicles need to be cautious. The reserve is designed for walking, but you can drive around; high clearance is necessary.

Enjoyed our stay. Ablutions and marked camp sites need attention. It was a pleasant surprise. Loved seeing the animals walking past the campsites. Suggest that the campsites be marked out clearly. The ablution blocks need some TLC and more hot water. Staff were very helpful and assisted in chasing away the monkeys. Chalets are quite cosy and have everything that is needed.

Comfortable but not luxurious, very pleasant stay. Reception communication can definitely be improved. We had to ask for a map and no list of animals/plants was available. There were, however, plenty of animals to see and the atmosphere was tranquil. We appreciate the 'no music' rule. Our chalet could do with some better maintenance.

Lovely wildlife and camping area but camping ablution facilities need work. The location was great, lots of wildlife and nice routes to drive. However, the camp area ablution needs work, specifically maintenance.

Nice setting, but disappointed in the state of the camp. The setting is pleasant and the staff are friendly, but the camp was a building yard with the construction of new chalets and tents going on all weekend. Although our unit was clean, the building itself was very tired and run down, particularly the bathroom. We did a hike on one of the days that was beautiful and this somewhat redeemed the visit. We trust that when renovations are done, the reserve will be worth a visit.

Rest for the soul. Beautiful, clean and dead quiet as I had hoped. Could walk among the wildlife.

Beautiful bush stay. The most amazing setting, with the chalets positioned well in the reserve, close to the pool and dam, with wildebeest and monkeys frequently passing near to the chalets. The nature reserve is full of animals, especially wildebeest and a variety of buck, and it is amazing to do a self-drive, hike in the reserve or take a guided night tour. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and I would highly recommend it for a breakaway from JHB/Pretoria. I would, however, suggest you do the trip with a high clearance vehicle as the roads are quite rough, especially if it rains.
