Gabbata Lodge is entering a new season, with many exciting changes planned to enhance the experience for every guest while remaining true to the tranquil bushveld character that makes it so unique.
Situated in the Roodeplaat area just outside Pretoria, the lodge is set on an expanse of unspoiled bushveld, home to a variety of game and birdlife. Here, guests are welcomed by wide open spaces, the sound of nature, and genuine hospitality. Gabbata provides a versatile escape - ideal for weddings, corporate conferences, private functions, or simply a relaxing bushveld breakaway.

The lodge offers 18 en-suite rooms of varying sizes, catering for individuals, couples, and families. Larger rooms are perfectly suited for groups of three to four people, while couples can enjoy the privacy of our honeymoon suite. Every suite is north-facing and overlooks the surrounding natural vegetation. Guests have access to secure parking, a swimming pool, and family-friendly amenities such as a children’s playground, ensuring comfort for all ages.

Our venues are designed to accommodate a wide range of occasions:

-A chapel with seating for up to 200 guests, perfect for weddings and formal gatherings.
-The Main Venue, a spacious hall suited to gala dinners, year-end functions, or large conferences.
-The Soetdoring Boma, an intimate, open-air space ideal for informal functions with a true bushveld atmosphere.
-The Karob and Kameeldoring Lapa, smaller venues that are perfect for training sessions, private celebrations, or relaxed outdoor meals.

For conferences and corporate groups, our packages include all essentials such as a projector, screen, sound system, multiplugs, bottled water, coffee and tea stations, and light lunches. Breakfast is included in room rates, and dinners can be enjoyed à la carte in our on-site restaurant, which is open every evening except Mondays.

The restaurant serves hearty, seasonal meals prepared with care, while our lapa offers the perfect spot to relax with a refreshing drink on warm summer afternoons. Guests can enjoy the peace of the bushveld, spot game moving across the property, or simply spend time with family around the pool.
