Ek is baie jammer ons was weg tydens jou verblyf, maar ek waardeer jou vriendelikheid om ons in kennis te stel dat alles goed was en dat jy jou verblyf geniet het. Mag jy geseën bly.

Uitstekende verblyf keuse vir Clarens. Ons is baie vriendelik ontvang deur Pat. Die cottage is baie netjies en skoon en hulle doen baie moeite; daar is koffie, tee, suiker en melk in die kombuis. Die badkamers is stylvol en badseep ens. word voorsien. Cottage is baie veilig en in 'n rustige omgewing van Clarens. Loopafstand van die winkels en restaurante af. Sal die plekkie definitief aanbeveel.

Heerlik gebly in die mooie kothuis met 'n asemrowende uitsig. Ons het heerlik gebly in Cottage 1 @ Gentle Presence. Die uitsig van die sitkamer, stoep en slaapkamers is asemrowend. Die gasvrou en gasheer het baie moeite gedoen om ons tuis te laat voel en ons verblyf so gemaklik as moontlik te maak. Die kombuis is goed toegerus en die warm komberse was 'n traktasie in die koue weer.

Perfectly located pretty cottage in Clarens. A very pretty cottage in Clarens. It is perfectly located and very well equipped. There are steep stairs, so it is not suitable for disabled people.

Hi Rosanne, Thank you so very much for the great review and for highlighting the stairs to potential guests. Indeed, the stairs are part of the unique charm of this Heritage Cottage. In yesteryear, builders did not need to conform to the strict building standards now in place. If you took note of the front door, you may have noticed the skewness above the door. This is because levels were not used in those days, nor does the house have a foundation like our modern-day homes. If it rains too much, the Cottage leans over towards the garden and in dry times it leans back - a marble dropped in the upstairs room would run into the far-left corner. The Cottage itself is a challenge, and you may have noticed that the stairs lead through an opening in the wall as they go upstairs - that opening is so narrow that all the upstairs furniture had to be taken over the balcony! When we recently added our 2nd Cottage, we were amazed to find that instead of the concrete support beams used today, they had iron pipes to keep the bricks above the opening in place. The Cottage was originally the stable before being transformed into the lovely home it now is. We do, however, highlight in our listings that we do not recommend it for anyone that battles with stairs or for children below 8. We are often asked why the age limit of 8, as smaller children can navigate the stairs easily. The reason is so Mum and Dad can relax and not be worried, as younger children tend to want to explore the unique shape of the stairs much like they would a jungle gym! This is just a recommendation as we have regular guests in their 90s and have had toddlers stay as well. Hope you will visit us again when next in Clarens - All the best!

Best self catering in Clarens. Views are unbeatable. We really enjoyed the cottage. It was homely with all the comforts one would need. Extra attention was paid to small details like welcome sweets, biscuits, milk and water. Beds were extra comfortable. Rooms were tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped. The best part was the beautiful views from the patio and upstairs verandas. Electric blankets made cool nights cosy.

A little gem in Clarens. This little cottage is a gem. It is clean and tidy, and the bed is very comfortable. It is close to shops and restaurants. The host was friendly and very welcoming.

Comfortable and in line with our expectations. A very friendly host. It was comfortable and had the best shower I have had on our entire trip. It was suitable for the five of us.
