Description

Itaga Lodge is located in the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve on a 12,000 ha game reserve. The reserve is a malaria-free area and home to the Big 5.

The property has 8 luxury African-style en-suite chalets. The Standard chalets have double beds with showers or baths, and the Superior Rooms feature double beds and tea- and coffee-making facilities, special bathroom facilities, bathrobes and slippers.

Each room has a private Pergola covered patio, and most rooms are fitted with private outdoor forest showers.

Itaga Lodge is home to elephants, leopards, rhinos, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, warthogs and a variety of goats and birds. Guests can enjoy an early morning- or afternoon game drive in the comfort of our open 4x4 vehicle, with their individually-contoured seats and an experienced tracker.

The thatched roof that forms the core of the main lodge has a romantically decorated dining area, an intimate living area with a distinctive fireplace, a mixed drink bar with a lookout deck that offers views of the brightly-lit waterhole, a cosy open-air forest boma and a full-day refreshment station with complimentary tea and coffee. There is also a DStv loft living area and library, a gift, craft and fashion boutique and a pool with Martini seats on a large sun deck overlooking the watering hole.

For our guests' safety and our marula trees' protection, the area around the camp is fenced with an electric game fence. The lodge also has comfortable indoor and outdoor conference facilities that can accommodate up to 16 delegates.

Itaga has a full staff complement which includes housekeepers, guides, hosts and chefs to cater to the guests' every need.
