Lovely venue to stay and see some animals in the bushveld. This is a very well-placed lodge. Around 2 hours drive from Pretoria. The facilities are being well managed and the staff well trained. All the staff greeted us very enthusiastically throughout our stay, from the reception staff to the various cleaners and service staff - very impressive in an environment where quite often one gets the impression that staff see visitors as an interference in their daily work (I hope that the managers of the lodge read this and convey this back to the staff). We were overall impressed by the facilities, the game drive and the meals. The dining area is stunning, one can see animals come down to a water hole as you eat. We had a cormorant entertain us by fishing in the water hole, this as Wilderbeast and Impala were grazing in the background and if this was not enough a Rhino and her baby wandered past. The quality of the food was also impressive. We will be back - probably not for a while as the cost is quite steep for South African pockets but probably cheap for European standards. What was great though was that the charge was for dinner bed and breakfast AND the game drive - the only extras were the wine BUT we cannot fault the lodge on this.
