Description
Meijer's Rust Farm is a working farm offering a wide variety of accommodations within the heart of the stunning Meiringspoort, just outside the village of De Rust. You are welcome to enjoy hiking high in the Swartberg Mountains surrounded by fynbos and waterfalls.
This farm offers a variety of accommodations, from camping under the stars to luxury chalets.
The romantic Stone Cottage, built in the 1850s, is located on a plateau above Meiringspoort. It sleeps 2 and you need only bring food and wine to make this an unforgettable experience. The cottage is accessible to vehicles with high clearance and is a good starting point for the farm’s wonderful hiking trails.
We have 4 comfortable, fully equipped, self-catering luxury chalets. They are set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings and each chalet has a queen-size bed.
The Milk Barn Cottage is a fully equipped, self-catering, 2-roomed cottage sleeping 4. The main bedroom has a double bed and the open-plan living area has bunk beds ideal for children.
The lower campground is easily accessible with all types of vehicles. It is a very relaxed and informal camping area, and you can choose where you want to stand on arrival. There is an ablution area with 2 x bathrooms that each include a shower, toilet and basin. There is a wash-up area for dishes.
We suggest bringing drinking water, we do stock firewood at a nominal cost.
We are located 3 km north of De Rust along the N12 Garden Route, only 27 minutes north of Oudtshoorn, 76 km from Prince Albert and 94 km from the national airport in George.
At Meijer's Rust, guests will find night skies that are an astronomer’s dream, abundant birdlife, and numerous walking trails. In addition to being an active farm where children can return to nature, Meijer's Rust is also a convenient base from which to explore the many other fantastic attractions located within the region.
