Description

Mike’s Cabin is a charming self-catering unit tucked away in the rural area of Olakeni in Sodwana Bay. Ideally located just off the main road, the cabin lies midway between Mbazwana, Sodwana’s nearest town, and the lively restaurant hub of Qondwane. This tranquil setting offers a true taste of the Zululand countryside, where visits from local Nguni cattle add to the authentic atmosphere.

The cabin can accommodate up to 6 adults, or 4 adults and 2 children, and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a cosy open-plan living area that flows onto a patio. Each bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the shared bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. Crisp linen and bath towels are provided.

The fully equipped kitchen features a gas stove, oven, microwave, toaster, air fryer, fridge-freezer, cutlery, and crockery. The lounge has 2 adult-sized sleeper couches, ideal for children or extra guests, positioned in front of a TV. Guests can also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi.

Outdoors, a private garden with seating, a boma area, a firepit, braai facilities, and a wood-fired hot tub creates the perfect space to relax under the African night sky. Secure parking is available, and the cabin is serviced daily for convenience.

Guests should note that the accommodation, like most in the Sodwana area, is accessed via gravel or sandy roads and is situated amongst the local Zulu community. While the rural setting may be unfamiliar to visitors from major cities, it forms part of the unique charm of the area. Overnight security is provided on the premises, ensuring peace of mind for guests throughout their stay.
