Mzila is a little gem tucked at the foothills of the mountains. Stunning! Mzila was lovely. We really had a great breakaway and enjoyed the place. We will recommend it for sure and will visit again. Some constructive criticism: it was situated nearby for us and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. It was clean, beds comfy, and the kitchen well stocked with all amenities. Please invest in a proper lounge suite as the double-seater chair in the lounge by the door is horrible and not comfortable at all. Also, the spare room needs some drawers to pack clothes in and some pictures on the walls; it's just dead white walls. It could do with one bedside nightstand with a lamp. The main bedroom could do with a bedside lamp as we had an elderly couple, and it's more convenient for the elderly to have a lamp for during the nights and to read. The swing needs a new cushion as it's breaking apart. A few salad/serving bowls and serving spoons are also required. Furthermore, it was lovely. Well done team.

An amazing retreat for those looking to escape the concrete jungle. Our stay was short and sweet. We enjoyed the hiking trail. The main cottage had a fireplace as a heater, and wood to keep the fire going was also provided. The service we received was excellent, and the facilities were great.

Peaceful and comfortable. We were looking for a quiet breakaway out of the city. It had been a rough year for all of us. We found exactly what we were looking for at Mzila. It was beautifully quiet on the property, with the occasional braying of donkeys from the nearby Donkey Dairy. The views of the mountains and the valley below were spectacular. We stayed in the two-bedroom house and loved it. From the wildly eclectic decor to the fireplace, the old Dover, and the rocking chair. We especially loved the kitchen and the table. The beds were comfortable and all the extra fluffy blankets ensured that we did not get cold even without lighting the fireplace. We spent our early mornings and the evenings either on the stoep or around the fire, listening to the birds in the old trees or watching the animals making their way down to the watering hole just below the house. Ntho looked after us while we were there, making sure the gate was open when we went out for the day, and making sure we had electricity/solar. The owner came out for a quick chat with us. We love you. I hope you are blessed with many good and kind guests. Thank you for a wonderful establishment that caters to us who crave the silence of nature.

I will definitely try baking bread rolls on the fire the way she was teaching me. I have bought the roller, lol. Relaxing, comfortable and peaceful. We had an absolutely wonderful stay in the beautiful and well equipped farmhouse. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We could really rest and relax and appreciate nature and the peaceful surroundings.

Wonderful. Beautifully renovated farm house with a nice mix of old and new. The beds are comfortable, and there is a fire pit, a big lawn, a new kitchen, Netflix, etc. It is also close to the mountain, offering amazing walks up to the top and through the forest along the stream.

Awsome weekend. We had a lovely 2 nights stay. The cottage is beautiful and we were provided with enough wood to last a week. Had an hour's game drive with our own vehicle which was very nice. Thank you to the owner, Hlengiwe, for being a stunning host. We will be back.
