Description

Namib Desert Lodge is situated below striking fossilised dunes in the Sossusvlei area in the Namib Desert, where one can experience a sunset or early morning drive through the red dunes. Enjoy the relaxed and friendly ambience while cooling off in the swimming pool, watching gemsbok arrive at the waterhole to drink, walking the trails into the dunes or dining in the cosy restaurant at the lodge.

Comfortable accommodation is offered in 66 guest rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and air-conditioning. Each room also has a verandah. The rooms overlook either vast desert landscapes or the fossilised dunes. The lodge also offers shaded camping sites under acacia trees on the bank of a dry riverbed. The campsite comprises fully equipped tents, each with 4 single beds with bedding, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a fitted kitchen with a small fridge, a stove, a sink and a braai area on the terrace.

The lodge offers 2 swimming pools, a salt-water and fresh-water pool, and a restaurant and bar with an inviting terrace, from where one can enjoy the magnificent views. Oryx antelope and springbok make frequent appearances at the illuminated waterhole. The lodge offers morning or sunset drives for an additional charge, as well as walking trails for those who wish to explore the area.
