Description

Malkoha Lake, St. Lucia, is situated within the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park in KwaZulu-Natal, a World Heritage Site with a unique diversity of scenery and flora and fauna. Accommodation is offered in air-conditioned thatched chalets, constructed of timber and interconnected by wooden walkways which are set among the trees, overlooking the lake and bushveld.

Accommodation is offered in 15 chalets built above a lush forest, with access to the main lodge area. and 7 self-catering chalets, each featuring a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, and dining area. Each of the self-catering chalets is equipped with air-conditioning in the living area, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, a TV with selected DStv channels, and a bathroom with a shower. Each self-catering chalet has access to a boma area with braai facilities.

15 chalets are not self-catering, where breakfast and dinner are included in the rates. These chalets comprise a 1-bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Each chalet is equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets, a bar fridge, a ceiling fan, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It also features a patio.

The lodge offers an open restaurant seating 30 people. The restaurant focuses on personalized service and excellent cuisine. A lounge area, housing a variety of wildlife books and board games, leads out onto a wooden viewing deck with breathtakingly stunning views of the lake and bushveld. There is a swimming pool for guests to enjoy, as well as a bar area and SPA facilities. Activities include canoeing, boat trips, specialized walking trails with guides, and community tours. Guests can enjoy the abundance of animal and birdlife and spectacular views at the peaceful haven of Malkoha Lake, St. Lucia.
