No17 on Mile16 is located on the pristine Sixteen Mile Beach in Yzerfontein. It holds the title of South Africa's longest stretch of beach, which runs from Yzerfontein's Main Beach in the South, all the way up to the start of the West Coast National Park in the North.
This double-storey, 3-bedroom house is located on the Mile 16 beach estate. The house features 2 bathrooms, 1 fitted with a shower only while the second is fitted with a bath and shower, as well as a guest toilet. The kitchen is fully fitted and open-plan with the lounge and dining room. To entertain, there is a small braai room, outdoor Kol-Kol hot tub, covered patio with braai and pizza oven as well as a braai pit in the back yard. From the back gate, there is a path that leads directly to the beach. We regret, the property is not wheelchair accessible.
The popular Sunday lunch and wedding venue, Die Strandkombuis, is within walking distance.
16 Mile Beach offers whale watching from September until November, which is calving season, and is very popular with sunbathers. The beach is ideal for kite surfers, as it can be quite windy at certain times of the year and the long stretch of beach makes it good for beginners. There are also companies which offer out rides on the beach for horse-lovers, either at sunrise or sunset. Yzerfontein is also very popular with fishermen, surfers, kite surfers and windsurfers.
