Do not camp here. Rather book into the lodge. Our campsite ablutions had no running water at all. I reported it to reception and was just given a key to another campsite's ablutions, which also had no running water. We could not use the toilets or wash dishes or shower. No one was sent to look at the problem or provide a better alternative. Sleeping past 05:30 is not an option because the staff use the campsite as a walk-through between home and work, making noises with no regard for sleeping campers. The campsite is located on the opposite side of the hill, very near to the noise of the town and suburbs, compared to the lodge which has great views with peace and quiet.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We at Opuwo Country Lodge sincerely understand your frustration regarding the recent water outage during your stay. Please know that our staff always strive to prioritise our guests' comfort and satisfaction. Unfortunately, the water supply was interrupted for three consecutive days due to issues beyond our control—this was caused by the Opuwo Town Council's water infrastructure challenges, which affected the entire town, including our lodge. We also acknowledge your concern regarding the noise levels. The disturbances were due to local celebrations linked to month-end (commonly referred to as “pay day”), during which community activity increases significantly. While this is a town-wide occurrence, we recognise the impact it may have had on your experience and will look into possible ways to minimise such disturbances in the future. Please note that due to the water outage, our toilet facilities were non-operational, as there was no water supply available throughout the entire town. We truly appreciate your review and take your concerns seriously. Rest assured, we are committed to improving wherever possible to ensure a better experience for all our guests.
