Over The Mountain Guest Farm is situated in the secluded hamlet of Herold, in the beautiful Outeniqua mountains, on the historical Montegu Pass and the famous Route 62. Located only a 30-minute drive from either George or Oudtshoorn in part of South Africa’s sublime Garden Route. Escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to stay for a few days, or to overnight on your way and enjoy the quiet, star filled nights.

The guest farm can accommodate up to 25 guests spread across the 3 accommodation units in a combination of 6 en-suite guest rooms as well as 2 self-catering family units. Over the Mountain Guest Farm is perfect for couples retreat as well as an ideal family getaway. Rooms have separate entrances for convenience and each has access to a stunning traditional porch ideal for late afternoon reading and relaxing.

The old Police Station on the farm has been transformed into a stunning dining area and lounge which despite renovations boasts original features including the wooden floors, doors and windows adding to the charm of this already idyllic space. The guest farm also has a lovely swimming pool, braai facilities and beautiful tea-garden.

With furniture produced on the farm itself from Blackwood as well as Oregon pine ceilings and floors with yellow wood beams, the characteristic features of the building are accentuated with modern fittings taking the otherwise rustic trappings into the 21st century.
