Description

Ploegfontein Guest Farm offers quality overnight self-catering accommodation on a working sheep farm, 12 km outside Springfontein. The guesthouse is set in lush, green gardens with breathtaking views over the farm & the surrounding area.

Accommodation is provided in a choice of 2 separate cottages, offering guests a private retreat in a peaceful environment.
Both cottages comfortably sleep up to 4 guests. Each unit is furnished with comfortable beds & an en suite bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet.

The cottages are also equipped with a bar fridge, toaster, tea & coffee-making facilities & a microwave.

Guests can enjoy a game of tennis, birdwatching, or a scenic walk on the farm.

The farm is located 157 km from Bloemfontein and approximately 7 km off the N1 on a gravel road, making it an ideal overnight stop for travellers passing through the Free State.

Should you wish to order we do offer a braai pack which consists of a chop, wors & chicken sosatie at R100 per pack. Please let me know by the day before your booking should you be interested in a braai pack.
Please bring your own charcoal or fire wood as well as your preferred side dishes to accompany your braai pack.
There is a bar fridge, microwave & kettle with necessary equipment & cutlery for self catering provided in the cottage.
There is complementary tea, coffee, milk, rusks & cereal in the cottages.

Please bring your preferred alcoholic beverages.

If you let me know from where you will be travelling I may send specific directions to our farm.
Kindly let me know your ETA (estimated time of arrival) on the day of your stay once you are travelling.

Important to note before booking:

Ploegfontein guest house is a farm stay. Springfontein is an area of remote, natural beauty as well as seasonal extremes. It is hot in summer. It is cold in winter.

Accommodation provided is on a room only basis. We no longer offer a cooked dinner option.
Our cottages are self catering. Please bring meals which are appropriate to heat in a microwave or braai. There are no restaurants open after 4pm nearby.

Use of the braai & pool area is shared by other guests.

Booking of both cottages for large groups of family or friends is permitted but please note that the cottages are separate buildings on opposite sides of the main yard, not situated next to each other.

As we run on solar power & gas please note that there are not heaters or aircons in our cottages.
We do provide fans, electric blankets & hot water bottles in each room.

Our property is monitored by cctv cameras. Rooms do not have burglar guards on the windows.
