Description
Ratel Lodge @ Ditholo Wildlife Estate is a self-catering home located in Ditholo Wildlife Estate, situated between Bela-Bela and Thabazimbi. This tranquil retreat offers a peaceful escape to the heart of the bushveld, just 2.5 hours from Pretoria.
The lodge can accommodate up to 10 guests and comprises 3 en-suite bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and a sleeper couch. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and the third bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. All bathrooms are en-suite and fitted with a bath, shower, toilet, and double washbasins. An additional sleeper couch is available in the open-plan lounge area.
The kitchen is fitted for self-catering and includes a double-door fridge-freezer, microwave, electric stove and oven, air fryer, 15 kg ice machine, pool table, and an additional fridge. The wash-up area is located just off the kitchen.
The living area features an open-plan layout with a lounge and dining space. The lounge is furnished with an L-shaped couch and a large Smart TV. The living area opens onto a covered wooden deck with an 8-seater dining table and built-in braai. Additional features include a swimming pool, a boma area, and access to a dam situated 50 metres from the lodge, stocked with bass and other fish (catch and release only).
Guests can explore the estate's variety of fauna and flora, hiking trails, cycling routes, and game-viewing opportunities. Birdlife is abundant throughout the reserve. The property is 230 km from Johannesburg.
Nearby attractions include hunting experiences offered by Ditholo Game Breeders and access to Zebula Golf Course, Elements Golf Course, and Euphoria Golf Course, all within 30 minutes. Additional activities such as Walking with Elephants at Zebula and lion feeding at Mabalingwe Nature Reserve are also nearby.
