Description
Riverina, the oldest holiday cottage in Stilbaai, was built on the western bank of the Goukou River by Johannes Guillaume Steyn in the early 1880s. Refurbished in 2024 in the traditional Boland farmhouse style, Riverina now offers comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation.
The house can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and a single bed, while the second bedroom has 2 single beds, and the third, one single bed. The 2 bathrooms are fitted with a bath, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The farm-style kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, and features a lovely dining set where guests can enjoy their meals. It extends to the lounge furnished with comfy seating.
The property enjoys a prime riverside location, adjacent to Palingfontein and a small beach. It features a stoep with river views, a sheltered braai area, and a piano for guests to enjoy.
