Spectacular scenery and peaceful. Should form part of anyones visit to the area! Absolutely stunning part of the country, which we would definitely return to for its beauty, remoteness, and the chance to disconnect from everyday life. We stayed for six nights and could easily have stayed longer! The campsite was exactly as described on the website — rustic ablutions, but fully functional. The cold showers were as advertised, so it’s best to shower around midday. The afternoon winds (September 2025) kicked up quite a bit of dust, so just keep in mind that everything will get dusty. We were, however, not entirely happy with the booking process. The cost when booking through the website increased by an unexpected 25% once the SANParks confirmation came through. We initially assumed this additional amount covered the daily conservation fees, but we still had to pay those separately at the Sendelingsdrift reception on arrival. So, be aware that the advertised price (from the website) and the actual price (from SANParks) might differ. Another booking issue: we originally booked for six adults, but three weeks before our stay another adult joined (making seven in total). We were required to book an entire additional campsite for just one extra person, which ended up costing half as much as the original booking for all six people — which didn’t quite make sense. If you plan on fishing, expect plenty of small fish and only the occasional big one. According to SANParks rangers, illegal gill-netting has significantly reduced the larger fish populations — something we could confirm by the bits of gill-net debris we found at a few spots, and from the catch results of our group of six experienced anglers and another group of three we met there.

Afgeleë wildernis op die beste. Ongelooflike ligging. Badkamergeriewe is ook goed. Water in die geriewe was egter totaal onbruikbaar. Dit was letterlik verrot!
