Wonderful visit to Clarens. We had a great stay at Shady Oak. The house is located literally around the corner from the town square and can therefore be easily explored on foot without worrying about parking during busy times. The braai on the large veranda overlooking the valley is wonderful and the fireplaces (and warm blankets) along with a glass of red wine and good company certainly helped to ward off the cold!

Clarens at its best. Lovely home located close to the square. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The location is perfect, and we could walk wherever we had to go. Due to water restrictions, we had to switch over to the reserve tank. Instructions around this would be helpful. The property is missing a few items, like a steel brush to clean the braai grid. Other than that, the stay was lovely.
