Shawu Retreat is a spacious self-catering home situated in Rooi Els, within the Kogelberg Biosphere. The property offers a tranquil escape for nature lovers, bird watchers, and those seeking solitude, with direct access to the mountain and a vast, pristine beach within walking distance. The house boasts uninterrupted 180-degree views of the ocean, Table Mountain, and Cape Point on clear days.

The home can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The bedrooms are each furnished with a double bed. The bathrooms are fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin.

The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering and includes a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery, and crockery. Additional appliances such as a washing machine and tumble dryer are provided for convenience. The living area features comfortable seating, a dining table, a TV with streaming services, and Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy the outdoor braai area, which overlooks the sea and mountains.

For security and peace of mind, the property is fitted with window and door security features, as well as an electric fence, due to the local baboon population in the area. Guests are advised to keep windows closed when leaving the home unattended.

Rooi Els lies along the scenic Clarence Drive (Route 44) between Gordon’s Bay and Pringle Bay. The area is popular for whale and dolphin watching, walking trails, and exploring the surrounding biosphere. Guests will find three local restaurants within walking distance. Beaches and nature reserves are protected areas where braais and fires are not permitted. To preserve the natural night sky, light pollution is restricted in the village.

The village features a local shop that stocks most essential supplies. With 3 restaurants to choose from, guests can enjoy a variety of dining experiences within the village.

Parking is available on the premises, and a car is recommended for exploring the area.
