Description
Shikwari Nature Reserve offers a peaceful bushveld escape near the Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route. Guests can enjoy beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, and warm hospitality in a tranquil setting. Accommodation is offered in two camps: Shikwari Suites Camp and Pangolin Rondavels.
Shikwari Suites Camp
This 4-star graded camp features 6 luxury suites nestled in the natural bushveld. Each suite has a private en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower.
Amenities include:
A mini fridge stocked on request
Freshly ground coffee with a French press, quality teas, and homemade cookies
Toiletries, bathrobes, towels, and percale linen
This camp is not self-catering.
Breakfast and dinner are served on the verandah or deck. Guests can relax on the shaded verandah or by the swimming pool (pool towels provided).
The main lounge offers a licensed bar, DStv Premium, and free Wi-Fi in the lounge and verandah area.
Pangolin Rondavels
Located approximately 500 m from the main lodge, the Pangolin Rondavels offer a semi-self-catering option with breakfast included in the rate. Dinner can be booked 24 hours in advance.
There are 4 rondavels:
2 have private bush bathrooms with outdoor showers, covered toilets, and basins
2 share a separate full bathroom with an outdoor shower
Each rondavel accommodates 2 adults and up to 2 children under 13 (some only 1 child) and features:
A ceiling fan
Wardrobe and seating area
Tea- and coffee-making facilities
A small fridge-freezer
Guests share access to a communal kitchenette equipped with gas and electric hobs, 2 electric ovens, a wash-up area, and a braai boma.
Please bring your own swimming towels, kitchenware, braai tools, wood, or charcoal. Daily housekeeping is provided.
Wildlife and Activities
Guests can see free-roaming wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, impala, nyala, bushbuck, duiker, steenbok, and ostriches, along with a wide variety of bird species, especially in spring and summer.
All activities are operated by third-party suppliers at their own rates, with transfers arranged on request. Guests are advised to book activities well in advance to avoid disappointment. Payment is made at the lodge.
