Camping @ Simonskloof Mountain Retreat offers rustic, eco-friendly campsites located 50 km west of Montagu. Perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends, this off-grid retreat provides a serene escape surrounded by stunning views and the natural beauty of the Succulent Karoo and Mountain Fynbos. The area is rich in medicinal plants and wildlife, making it an ideal setting for yoga and healthy living workshops.

The campground features 8 spacious campsites, accommodating up to 30 guests in total. Each site is spread out around a 300-year-old oak tree and alongside a mountain stream, offering a blend of shade and grassy patches. Fresh mountain spring water is available at each site. For amenities, guests will find eco-friendly compost toilets and gas-operated hot water showers in the shared ablution facilities. While ordinary caravans may not be suitable for the terrain, normal cars, 4x4 trailers, and rooftop tents are welcome.

Camping @ Simonskloof Mountain Retreat offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, rock climbing, and swimming in a farm dam or natural rock pools. Guided adventures such as canyoning, wilderness trekking, and abseiling are also available. Since 1999, the owners have developed an extensive 50+ km network of hiking trails, including the famous Gecko Trail, a challenging and rewarding mountain traverse.
