Refreshing getaway. Here we were able to really switch off and just be in nature for the first time in a long time. You crave this type of getaway and it was just what we needed. In the Faraway Cottage we were able to stay calm, go for walks in the hills and beautiful hiking trails with our dogs, fall asleep late with only the sound of the birds and frogs outside, breathe in the fresh air, braai in nature, make a fire inside on the cold autumn evenings, and most importantly, turn off and put our phones away. There is no WiFi, and that is a good thing. I am already looking for the next weekend we can come. Loved camping here! If you love nature and hiking, we highly recommend Simonskloof. We loved camping here with our dogs and hiking to the rockpools, waterfall and appreciating the silence. We even spotted the very rare riverine rabbit one night while sitting by the fire! The hosts are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The only thing I would mention is that some of the campsites are a bit close together if you like camping in complete privacy and some of the sites have a slope.

Heaven in the mountains. If you need to break away, this is the place to go.
