Description
Somabula Nature Reserve’s Ballantine Ox Wagon is situated on a game farm between Rayton and Cullinan, less than an hour’s drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg. It accommodates 2 guests seeking a unique, peaceful retreat.
The sleeping area is in a charming ox wagon, furnished with a double bed made up with linen. An extra blanket is provided. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet, and washbasin, and bath towels are supplied.
The adjoining kitchen area includes a fridge-freezer, crockery and cutlery, a gas stove, a kettle, and washing facilities. The braai area is located near the kitchen. The spacing between units on the property provides guests with a good level of privacy.
Please note that Eskom power and cellphone charging points are not available.
Guests will encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including giraffes, elands, blue wildebeests, nyalas, zebras, red hartebeests, blesbucks, and more, all roaming freely in the area. During their bush-style getaway, guests will be greeted by birdsong and the early calls of jackals at dusk.
Hiking trails, a 4x4 track, and mountain biking routes are available. Guests are welcome to bring binoculars, hiking shoes, bicycles, cameras, bird guides, braai equipment, and fire starters. It is truly a getaway where guests can relax, connect, spend quality time together, and enjoy nature.
