Stuurmansfontein Corbelled House offers comfortable and character-filled accommodation within a unique national monument, situated 57 km from Carnarvon in the heart of the Karoo. This historic corbelled house is completely off the grid, accessible via a dirt road, and surrounded by vast open landscapes that provide peace, tranquillity and breathtaking views.

The house features 3bedrooms, a bathroom with a bath, an outdoor shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cosy lounge and dining area. Two of the bedrooms each have a double bed, while the third bedroom contains 2 single beds, ideal for families or small groups. The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge, gas stove and all necessary cutlery and crockery. Braai facilities are also available for outdoor cooking.

To preserve the authentic charm of this heritage site, the house has no electricity, mobile phone reception or Wi-Fi. Lighting is provided by candles and gas lamps, enhancing the peaceful and rustic atmosphere.

Stuurmansfontein is perfect for those seeking a quiet retreat and a taste of frontier history. Guests can spend their days surrounded by untouched nature and their nights beneath a sky full of stars.
