Description

Swartberg Backpackers is located 45 km outside Oudtshoorn at the foot of the world-famous Swartberg Mountain Pass. The Woodstock Unit features a private hot tub with stunning views of the farm dam, waterfall, and surrounding mountains. Guests can also cool off in the mountain swimming pool while enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature.

The property is fully off-grid and powered by solar, gas, and wood fires. Solar power provides electricity for lights, charging devices, and a small 12V fridge, while hot water is supplied by solar and gas geysers, with a wood-fired “donkie” available on cloudy days.

The unit is equipped with a gas stove, oven, and bar fridge. Braai facilities are provided, and pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please note there is no microwave and no restaurant, bar, or shop on-site. A few restaurants are nearby, and the closest shop is in Oudtshoorn.

Guests can enjoy various activities, including canoeing on the farm dam, pedal cars, and swimming in the farm and mountain pools.
