Description

Tamboershoek is a working sheep and game farm that offers a chalet that can sleep a family or group of 4.

Offering a panoramic view from the stoep, the chalet has 2 en-suite bedrooms. The first room has a king-sized bed, and the second room has 2 single beds. Both en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower.

The open-plan living area has a kitchen that is equipped with a gas fridge-freezer, a gas stove with an oven, and a dining area. The living area also has an indoor fireplace for the chilly Karoo nights. An outdoor braai area is also available, and a hot tub is available to cool off in or to warm up.

Please note that the chalet does not have any electricity; lights consist of oil lamps and rechargeable lights, and warm water is provided by a gas geyser. The unit also does not have cell phone or TV reception. There is Wi-Fi near the parking area and the main house – and of course, if you climb the hill near the chalet.

The farm is reached by a gravel road, and a high-clearance vehicle is recommended, although a 4x4 vehicle is not necessary. There is more than 1 route available; guests need to enquire for a route that will best suit their needs. Routes to the farm are also popular with semi-off-road touring motorcycle enthusiasts.

Guests are welcome to explore the farm on foot or by bicycle, and birders are welcome. We have beautiful trails in the game reserve, including a waterfall. Wildlife on the farm includes blesbok, springbok, blue wildebeest, gemsbok, kudu, the rare klipspringer, and more. Bird watchers are most welcome
