Beautiful, clean, comfy, with stunning views, highly recommend! We had such a wonderful stay at The Bell @ Fernwood and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Drakensberg! The property is absolutely beautiful, extremely well maintained, and super clean. The views are breathtaking, and the location is ideal—fairly close to most of the area’s main attractions and sights. The newly redone roads inside the property make driving around easy and smooth, and we were warmly welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who made us feel right at home. The house itself has everything you could possibly need and more—we were especially impressed to find even the most random but useful items like an air fryer, rolling pin, pizza cutter, and shooter glasses (all of which we actually needed and had forgotten to pack!). They also thoughtfully provided firewood, coffee, tea, sugar, Cremora, and full bath/shower amenities. The little touches made such a difference—the incredibly comfy beds, strong and warm water pressure, and even a cozy reading nook stocked with a wide variety of books. We were pleasantly surprised to find the house cleaned and tidied up daily while we were out exploring, which made it feel like such a treat coming home every evening. Although it was a bit chilly during our stay, the property also boasts a beautiful swimming pool, tennis court, and a fun entertainment area with a pool table and table tennis—perfect for warmer days. To top it all off, we had a magical visit from a pack of zebras grazing less than 10 meters from the outdoor seating area, which was such a special moment. Overall, it was a fantastic experience—great value for money, stunning surroundings, and everything you could want for a relaxing getaway. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, and we would not hesitate to recommend The Bell @ Fernwood to anyone looking for the perfect Drakensberg escape.

Food for the soul. Really lovely accommodation - well equipped, comfortable and gorgeous views. So close to the mountains and hikes at Monks Cowl. Also loved visiting Valley Bakery.

Family relaxing stay in the mountains. Awesome stay right up in the mountains, but with lots of privacy. It really felt like we were alone in the mountains. The walking trails at Fernwood could do with a bit of maintenance. But the bell was perfect.

Heaven in the Berg. Great house, best location, everything you need and more in the house. Communication was great, house spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff at reception can only praise Fernwood and the Bell for our stay.

Amazing! Simply an amazing place to stay if you're planning to visit the Drakensberg. The unit is incredibly modern (just like in the photos) and fully equipped with everything you might need for your stay—even firewood was provided. Morning coffee with a view of the mountains was absolutely unforgettable. We had an amazing time hiking the Monk’s Cowl trail. The estate also offers great amenities, including a games room, tennis court, a small swimming pool, and even a trout pond for fishing. We can highly recommend The Bell @ Fernwood!
