The Stoep offers comfortable guest accommodation in the heart of Nieu-Bethesda’s charming tourist square, making it an ideal option for couples or solo travellers exploring this iconic Karoo village. This gracious old Karoo home is filled with character, boasting a wraparound verandah, tranquil garden, and vintage charm.
Guests can choose from 4 individually styled rooms, Wisteria Room, Vine Room, The Courtyard, and Rambling Rose. All rooms feature private entrances from the verandah and have en-suite bathrooms. For year-round comfort, each room is fitted with a heater for winter and a fan for the warmer summer months.
The communal areas offer a welcoming space to unwind, including a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, essential cutlery and crockery and tea-and coffee-making facilities. A cosy lounge and dining area with a romantic fireplace, and inviting outdoor spaces. Guests are welcome to relax on the wraparound verandah or enjoy the garden’s braai facilities beneath the trees.
The home, over 120 years old, features eclectic vintage and artistic décor throughout and is home to a selection of original artworks by local artists, some of which are available for purchase. Additional experiences such as My Bethesda walking tours, picnics, game drives, and home-cooked meals can be arranged with the host by prior booking. We are an alcohol-free property, and no alcohol is permitted on the premises.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and local attractions such as the famous Owl House Museum and nearby restaurants are within easy walking distance, making this a perfect base from which to explore the soulful beauty of Nieu-Bethesda.
