Nestled at the foot of a mountain in the heart of a nature reserve and built on the banks of a river, Umtamvuna River Lodge is a self-catering lodge of leisure. With its subtropical gardens, abundant birdlife, and close proximity to the sound of water, it offers an unhurried tranquillity.

Guests can choose from a range of modern, well-appointed rooms and units for 2 to 4 people, each with a king-size bed, convertible to twin beds, quality linen, and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. All suites open onto private wooden decks and include couches, TVs with Openview, bar fridges, and tea and coffee facilities. The self-catering apartment also offers a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.

The pool terrace and cocktail bar, set on stilts by the river, enhance the lodge’s relaxed, rustic feel. Guests can enjoy a swimming pool, table tennis, foosball, a pool table, and one of the country’s best skateboarding mini ramps. Boarderpost Watersports offers wakeboarding, boat rides, tubing, water skiing, and paddle boarding.
