Very pleasant experience and very grateful to have heard about Van Zylsvlei. What a lovely, peaceful location for this 75-year-old gem. Very well worth stopping there overnight. Just 6 quick kilometres from Colesberg. We were offered supper and what a wonderful surprise. Lovely home-cooked meal, pleasantly plated on a large plate with no room for more. Host and hostess were both friendly, warm and welcoming. Our only challenge was calling reception to book in. Phoned 4 times with the call ending on each occasion. Good old hoot did the trick to open the gate.
