Villa Beryl Guesthouse is your home away from home. It is one of Vryheid’s surviving classic old South African homes, featuring sandstone foundations, Oregon pine floors, high ceilings, and wide verandas.

All 16 bedrooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee facilities, DStv, wireless internet, and air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable stay. Five of the bedrooms are self-catering.

Continental breakfasts are served daily, and dinner is available on request, featuring traditional South African cuisine.

The property offers undercover parking. Each room is fitted with its own alarm system, ensuring the safety and security of both guests and their belongings.

Villa Beryl also hosts conferences for up to 30 people and welcomes visitors wishing to use its facilities for photo opportunities, such as weddings or matric farewell photos.

Situated on the edge of town, the Vryheid Hill Nature Reserve offers excellent birdwatching opportunities within a beautiful conservation area. The reserve comprises grasslands, rocky slopes, forests, and mixed woodland, supporting a diverse range of animals, birds, and plant species.

Many private landowners in the area offer hunting and game viewing, with accommodation options ranging from rustic to luxurious. Vryheid has grown as a conference and event centre, allowing delegates to combine their safari experience with visits to the region’s natural mineral spa resorts.

Just 2 km south-west of the town along Babanango Road lies the Klipfontein Bird Sanctuary, which includes a large wetland providing a safe refuge for many rare and secretive wild water birds.

To the east, two notable nature and wildlife areas include Ngome Forest, Ntendeka Wilderness, and Ithala Game Reserve. The reserve is accessible via a well-maintained tarred road and features a landing strip.
