Pleasant stay that has the potential to be great with a few tweaks. We had a pleasant stay at Villa Simonne recently when I treated my husband to a weekend away. They have a beautiful garden and uniquely themed, small venue spaces on the premises. The staff were friendly and helpful and had no problem assisting me with a hairdryer when I noticed our room didn’t have one. With that said, the room amenities could do with a few essential additions, like a hairdryer and some basic cutlery and crockery. Our unit had a small kitchen, fitted with an oven, stovetop, microwave, kettle and small fridge. There was however nothing in the cupboards but two coffee cups and two small glasses, which proved to be bit of a challenge when we sat down to eat our order-in dinner the first night of our stay. We also experienced some discomfort with wasps entering our room from nearby nests. With a little bit of TLC, Villa Simonne could be a gem in the Houghton area.
