Closer to heaven one can't ask for. The unit was filled with everything you could possibly need and think of. The hosts made very sure that you short absolutely nothing. It was my best breakaway weekend in a very long time, if not ever. I can't wait to go back there again.

Wonderful and peaceful getaway! We had a wonderful stay and had such a great time! The Hoepoe Cabin has everything you need for a self-catering getaway. The aircon works brilliantly in the summer heat. The bed was a bit hard, but that's personal taste. Would definitely recommend it!

Peaceful, blessed and beautiful! Perfect getaway. First time in 4 years leaving our kids at home, and would recommend this to anyone. Everything you need, aircon, fireplace, nice filter coffee and rusks, kitchen had everything we needed, even an icebox in the freezer. Beautiful views and nice walks. Our stay at Vrolikheid was sweetly private and absolutely breathtaking. My husband and I really enjoyed the Hoopoe Cabin! It was our first ever trip together and definitely memorable. Everything you can think of was catered for, and the amenities were amazing. We enjoyed making pizza and a braai with the outdoor fireplace and mobile pizza oven. The wood-fired KolKol hot tub was a hit! Ending off a long day of activities in Tulbagh with a glass of wine and the hot tub under the starry sky was a dream. The uniquely hidden outdoor bathtub was the perfect way to relax after a long walk through the orchards surrounding the cabin. Although Vrolikheid cabins are private and tucked away on the mountain, the location was close enough for us to hop into the car and head into the town square for coffee and baked goods at Kole & Deeg, or to go wine tasting at Manley. We also visited Vrolikheid horse riding school, which is on the premises, and we enjoyed an hour-long guided horse ride through the orchards - a memorable and fun experience. The customer service at Vrolikheid was friendly, accessible and hassle-free. As a couple, we would definitely recommend!
