Tranquil, rejuvenating stay extremely comfortable. It was a very tranquil and relaxing stay. Our accommodation had all the required amenities, and our children had a fun-filled weekend.

39 Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve

Hi Elize. The duvets are definitely not summer duvets and there are plenty of blankets in the house. By my last count, we had 12 additional. Three of the rooms have under-tile heating and one room has a heater since the under-tile heating is not working and is non-repairable. I’m sorry if you found it to not be value for money for a 10-sleeper serviced house, which is always immaculately clean and well kept. We also turned on DStv for you at our cost and at your request so that you could watch the Rugby.

A serene weekend away we had with my friends in this beautiful reserve. Stayed a weekend at 39 Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve with a group of friends. Everything was so perfect. From the booking process, arrival at the reserve, the reception and the overall stay was magnificent. Anything we needed in the house and more was available. Wendy and Don were always available to assist with any clarity we required; and thank you for your warm hospitality and assistance. The house is beautiful, clean with a nice mountain view and the sound of the river water flowing was amazing.

Beautiful surroundings with big fish to catch, we will be coming back! A wonderful time was had with family at No 39 Doornkop. Don took care of all our needs during our stay. He arranged WiFi and DStv for our stay. A new kettle and a non-working geyser were fixed the same day we reported it. Unit 39 is well equipped with a lot of extras, and a very kind lady kept our place neat and tidy. The surroundings are peaceful and very quiet. Fishing was challenging, but once we worked out what the fish were taking, we caught plenty. There are big fish in the well-stocked dams. Walking trails are great to explore the outdoors and view the wildlife roaming free. Definitely one of the best places we have been to, and we will for sure return. Thank you for making this a visit never to forget!
