Description

Nestled in the beautiful Ruiterbos Valley at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, you will find Balintore Guest Farmhouse and Cottage. It is located a mere 20-minute drive from the sea and 45- minutes’ drive from Oudtshoorn and offers tranquility, and country living at its best.

This charming property offers guests a choice of Balintore Guest Farmhouse that can accommodate 6 guests, and the Cottage that can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child. The Guest Farmhouse is loadshedding friendly and comes equipped with an inverter, and comprises 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a walk-in shower, basin, and toilet. The second bedroom is furnished with a double bed and has a basin for guests' convenience. The third bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. The second and third bedrooms share the use of a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.

The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas hob, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, and features a centrally located breakfast island with stools. A water purifying system is installed at the basin to ensure pure drinking water for guests. In a separate scullery, there’s a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer for guests to use. The kitchen leads to an 8-seater dining table and further opens up to the lounge furnished with plush seating space and a cosy fireplace, as well as some board games. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi throughout the house.

The lounge extends to the covered patio with outdoor seating, and a dining space perfect to alfresco dining, and features a lovely built-in braai area. It overlooks the beautiful landscape and boasts an outdoor bathroom with its open-air donkey-driven bath and shower which promises to be enjoyable on hot summer days when a sun-kissed body seeks refreshment.

The Cottage comprises 1 bedroom furnished with a double bed and a matrass for 1 child, and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.

The unit has an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. There’s a small 3-seater dining table with chairs, and a cosy seating area in the lounge.

The unit opens up to the lovely patio overlooking the lawn where guests can enjoy the beautiful sunset.

This property has a small gym area for the health-conscious and fitness enthusiasts and offers a Haelkraal Road through the mountains that mountain bikers will love. Guests are also welcome to pick and enjoy fresh and crisp organic vegetables from the veggie garden and may collect fresh free-range eggs from the coop every morning, just in time for breakfast. The farm dam is stocked with bass fish, guests are most welcome to catch and release.
